November and i 'm Still not in for the blessed op,

So Not in for the op, but the loft is Finally insulated, this is it almost done and the result is a much warmer home. The difference is noticeable. Cavity wall insulation is not yet in  as no scaffolding arrived. Ditto solar panels. So we have had a lot of disgruntled trades folk to calm down and encourage to redirect  their wrath To Their Offices!

This is a natty little thing! Arrived today. After the pacemaker in April I have not been able to use our induction hob, so this beauty means that the two leeks that have inexplicably thrown up flower heads Far Too Early will be transformed into leek and potato soup, tomorrow,

While This charming illustration is taken from a Scottish gardening book that was retrieved from a charity shop this week.

Due to "Still Waiting".......their ducks have to be in a row and I have had to see endless people.......I am not in a fit state to be out and about. Physically I m a bit unpredictable ......and tired .
So am now reading a book a day while attempting to keep out of trouble and upright!

Today's  book is "Winter in Thrush Green" by Miss Read.
I ordered four Miss Read books, but have found myself with three plus a copy of Stepford Wives!!!!!
Someone in the UK is gazing with great perplexity at a copy of a  Miss Read book.........!
